MSD - Musculoskeletal Disorder

In the 2018 study conducted by the Singapore General Hospital on the prevalence of MSD (Musculoskeletal Disorder) among office workers in Singapore, the body parts with the highest report of pain were on the neck (46%), shoulder (42%) and lower back (42%). In addition, MSD is more common in females (79%) compared to males (64%).

The most common cause is due to poor working postures often adopted and aggravated by poorly designed or inflexible workstations

Simply put, it is a workstation where users are able to achieve an optimal position that enables them to work in comfort To achieve this, Flexibility is key and an Ergonomic Design Principled workstation allows the user to calibrate themselves to adopt a neutral posture

Neutral Posture is where the body is aligned and balanced while either sitting or standing, placing minimal stress on the body and keeping joints aligned Such correct postures minimize the stress applied to muscles, tendons, nerves and bones which in turn gives the person maximum control and force production
